About Erik Devaney
Erik Devaney (deh-vuh-nee) is a Content Strategist at HubSpot, where he plans, writes, and designs content for the modern marketer. He began his career as a freelance writer, and had clients ranging from brands (including LIVESTRONG and Hidden Valley) to small businesses. Erik broke into the Boston startup scene when he joined the ranks of Dailybreak, a native advertising and gaming platform. At Dailybreak, he produced hundreds of interactive media experiences known as “Challenges,” and created sponsored Challenges for brands including PUMA, Chili’s, HALLS (MondelÄz), and Ernst & Young. Erik’s next stop (before joining HubSpot) was the real estate marketing tech company Placester, where he was responsible for content, social media, blogging, email, and other inbound marketing activities. A native of the Boston area, Erik attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. An accomplished Celtic musician, he sings and plays the Irish bouzouki, mandolin, guitar, harmonica, and several other instruments.
